Question:

I am extremely stressed and need to sleep. What can I do or take?

I've had an incredibly rough week. If I told you, you wouldn't believe it. I need to sleep so I can take care of my family tomorrow. What OTC things can I take to help me sleep.

I don't drink alcohol or do drugs so no stupid answers, please. I really do need help.

  2. Valerian root or Melatonin are natural, safe, and effective for helping you relax and get to sleep. Commercial pain/sleep aids usually just dry out your sinuses and they give me horrible Restless Arms, which keeps me up all night!

  3. take a nice and warm bath to relax, read a book, do something you enjoy, eat some ice cream or a comfort food and just take it easy and try and get over the stress

  4. Tylenol or Advil PM will work just fine.

  5. Benadryl, it is what they give older people in heart hospitals for sleep, it works and it is safe and habit forming

  6. Try some warm milk, chamomile tea and turning the TV off. Also, tylenol PM works great, I only take half the recommended does because I have small children and don't want to sleep too sound. Hope that helps!!

  8. Melatonin is a great natural sleep aide, and it wont get you hooked. You can just take one whenever you are having trouble, and it will help you relax. Also, you should try some hot herbal tea, it will also relax you.  

  9. Sleep MD works well over the counter. Make sure you don't have a appointment and you can devote at least 8 hours to sleep. Take a warm bath or shower using lavender it calms you down, pop in a movie take the pills with a little meal and sleep all your problems away.

  10. You can buy this over the counter in different mg. I would suggest buying 3 mg and taking one at night. It's called Melatonin and it's all natural so this is not habit forming. It let's you go to sleep and it will let you sleep all night and you won't wake up feeling like you haven't slept at all.Actually you feel rested. I give this to my son to help him go to sleep and I sometimes take it myself. Try it out and Good Luck
