  1. Because it is genetic I would get tested often. I actually spend my time volunteering for Juvenile Diabetes and raising money for research so I know it can be life threatening. I have never heard of the rice thing before, so I apologize I am not sure. Here is a website that you can do some research on.

Best Wishes and I hope you stay well!

  2. I'm 34, and my mother also has type 2 diabetes. The chances are good that we, as their daughters will get it. The key to to live a healty life. Eat well and get some exercise. If more women in your family, aunts, grandmothers have also had it, your chances are greater. I've been checked several times for diabetes and so far I havent been tested positive. I do check my sugar, a good number is around 100. The time to talk with your doctor about it is now. Just remember, eatting well doesnt mean that you have to go onto a diet, just do it smart.

  3. pretty d**n strong if its in your genetic code

  4. The risk is great particularly if you are overweight and  expose yourself to stress.  My father got Type 2 very late in life and my brother and I both now have it (type 2). I got it a 61 and he at 62 years of age. We  are somewhat overweight, however even if we weren't I am sure that it wouldnt have missed us as it is also genetic.

It is wise to get a monitor and from time to time take your blood glucose levels. Its simple and wise as diabetes like high blood pressure can be a silent killer causing damage which can easily be avoided if one is vigilant.

Your quality of health can be even better because you are prone to doing what is healthy and good for you.  Good luck and get proactive.

As for the rice, hot or cold has nothing to do with diabetes.

  5. I have never heard of cold rice causing diabetes!  You would have a greater chance.  I would be sure to exercise and keep a lower weight
