I started in 2006 and in may of 2007 I payed my last payment of my payment plan. I was told it would take 6 mouths to file after last payment. A year and 2 mouths later, not filed. I call them and each time I get some answers and a run around, but never the answers to the questions that I asked. They always say, someone will call you in 2 weeks and 2 weeks later, no call. I have asked them if they have anyone else that is taking this long and they said yes, I'm not the only one. I kinda feel like they are taking my money and running. This is really upsetting cuz I can't get my life back on track. I can't even think about it sometimes I just break down. I just want to get it over with. Can anyone HELP me!!!

  1. There is no way it should take this long...First, do as debij's advice states and contact your states bar association, and file a complaint.  There should be a consumer hotline as well and you can call and see what they advise you to do. You may have to hire another attorney which would should be simply paying the filing fee and firing the old attorney, but start with the bar association, they don't take kindly to attorneys that s***w with people and don't do what they are supposed to do. Good Luck!

  2. ~~I am assuming you went through a bankruptcy attorney. If so go to your states websit and go under consumer services. There is a board for attorney's and you can file a complaint and receive guidance with this. Good luck, I hope they are legit!~~
