I am financial accountant/ auditor and want to work in mining industry can I contact the mining co direct?

Are you self-employed? If so go ahead and telephone the mining company. When the person on the switchboard answers state that you are an accountant/ auditor and want to work in mining industry. Ask if he/she could advise you how best to go about it with that company. Often this person will give you some good advice, and may even voluntarily give you some extra information about the company that can be of help. The switch operator should be able to tell you the name and rank of the best person for you to contact, maybe even suggest  the best day and time to telephone that person for an appointment.  When you actually speak with that official of the company, just try to make the appointment.

A good technique is to say "... Good morning Mr ....?......, my name is ....?.......     ...?...., I am an accounting auditor.  I have an idea that may be of interest to you and your company. The purpose of this call is to make an appointment, will [ state time and date] or [ state time and date] be convenient?"  [You choose the two times and dates  that you know are OK for you. By giving that person a choice no matter which they choose, you have the appointment.

Occasionally both the times you have suggested may not be suitable for Mr ...?..., but he will just automatically suggest another time that suits him. Write this time down in your appointment book. Then say "Thank you Mr. ...?... I look forward to seeing you at your office at ...[restate the time and date as written in your diary]". Now is the time to hangup without saying anything else. Remember all you wanted  is the appointment during this conversation. Do not try to sell yourself at this stage. You do this later at the office, at the appointed time. Now telephone the company again and thank the switch operator for being so helpful, say that you have made the appointment and ask for all the other information you need, such as when you arrive where do you park you vehicle? How do you get to his office and how far away is it from the main reception area? Last but not least, get to the appointment in good time to be on time.
