I am flying into Shannon Ireland May 25th, could someone give me recommendations.....?

You need a lot of Artic Quality warm clothes which are waterproof

look on the Internet, fab deals for cars and they deliver to the airport.go to see knock shrine,its wonderful.and the airport hotel is very cheap to stay,we had a fab room all mod cons,food you will love,loads to see and do.and all places you eat in Ireland are just fabulous,and if you can travel up to west country,the ring of kerry is nice,

Shannon airport is only a short drive from Limerick city and a little over an hour form Galway city. Both places are good bases from which to explore the western side of the country. There are great restaurants in both places and they cater for all price ranges. In Limerick, you cannot go without eating in The Texas Steak Out on O'Connell Street but it's a very popular spot and you will need to book in advance for an evening sitting. The Phone No is [phone] or e-mail [e-mail]. There are Lot's of places to see near by too but a car is almost essential. you can hire a small car for about €30 per day at the airport. Avis is one hire company or hertz.  Galway is a great City to visit also and again, a good base to explore from. There are lot's of top class restaurants, bistros etc to choose from. My favourite is The Park House Restaurant, which is a little pricey but well worth it for the service and excellent food. It has an extensive menu to cater for all tastes and set menu's are available at a reasonable price. The Phone No for booking is [phone]. From either city you can visit Bunratty Castle and folk park for a look at how life was in the early part of the 20th century, The Cliffs of Moher which are truly spectacular, and many many other places that you can find info on at the tourist office. See the ring of kerry, ring of beara, cliffs of moher, killarney national park. Galway and cork are nice towns. Anywhere along the west coast is beautiful.

You should try to see Bunratty Castle,its about a 15 minute drive from the Airport.It's absolutely brilliant,you get to go through the castle and folk village and if you feel like it you can go to one of the banquets.It really is like nothing you have ever seen.

Bunratty Castle is in Shannon, the castle is okay, very touristy. BUT right by the castle is Dirty Nelly's pub grab yourself some potatoe soup and a harp YUMMY!

That's a lovely time of the year to visit the sunny south east? It would be an hour and a half drive from Shannon but well worth the visit plenty of self catering house to rent and loads of activities to suit all ages. Hope you enjoy our beautiful country!
