  1. im 17, and im going with my lil sister to Guadalajara, Mex in December.

Well this is what im taking:

Passport, School ID (state ID for you)

    MONEY (cash)

proof of citizenship ( ID )

    and that's basically it

MAKE SURE YOU TAKE INLEAST 2 PENS (incase someone else needs one or u lose it)WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES DURING YOU'RE FLIGHT. YOU WILL NEED TO SIGN PAPERS DURING THE FLIGHT THAT THE FLIGHT ATTENDANTS WILL GAVE YOU.

    also,

    take

a credit card (prepaid cards, like AmericanExpress are the best and safest)

    and thats it.

MAke sure u take your driver's license with u at all times, especially if ur going to rent a car.

  2. Definitely make sure to bring passport or Certified birth certificate AND you must go to the customs desk before going to the airline ticket counter to get you "Tourist Card". The cost is around 22 US dollars and its good for 6months. When I flew out of TIJ to Hualtuco, no one told me I needed a Tourist card and on my return to TIJ, I almost had to pay a fine for not having one.

  3. Hola!  Well, you must have used your passport to get into the country via Tijuana, so that will work fine.  Are you on a 180 tourist visa, or do you have an FM2 or 3?  You may have to provide that documentation, but rarely have I been asked.

Most domestic flights anywhere are cracking down on the amount of items you can bring due to higher fuel costs.  Mexico is no different.  Most flights allow you one suitcase under 45kg and a carry on item that fits the overheads or under the seat.

  4. You will need a passport and you will get your tourist card on the plane...no other paperwork unless you are under 18.  If you are under 18 and both parents will not be with you, you need a letter of permission.  See 1st site below and read section on minors under "Entry Requirements."  See TSA site...2nd site below...for all things you may and may not take on the plane.  Anything not listed as prohibited, is allowed.
