On local flights in the US, a bag was not allowed to weight more than 50 lbs which is really light...im hoping since its an international flight with Lufthansa it might be different....or if anything, where in their web site can i check that ?

  1. Depends if you're flying first class or coach.  Also depends on where you are flying out of.  http://www.lufthansa.com/online/portal/l... shows the chart.

    It looks like 66 pounds...

  2. Check the baggage section on page -

    http://www.lufthansa.com/online/portal/l...

If you still want to be sure, call up their toll free number and confirm!

  3. Katia, your free baggage allowance on Lufthansa is 20 kg (44 pounds) in economy, plus a ski bag. If you are going from the USA or Canada, you can take 2 bags of 23 kg each, according to Lufthansa's website. You can see this for yourself at the URL shown below.

A bag of 20kg is substantial, particularly if you are careful as to what you pack. Most people take far more stuff than they actually use, especially my wife.

    Have a nice trip.

    Regards,

    Dan

  4. Each piece of hand baggage may not be larger than 55 x 40 x 20 cm and may not weigh more than 8 kg. An exception are foldable garment bags. They count as hand baggage up to a size of 57 x 54 x 15 cm.Pieces of baggage exceeding these limits have to be checked in
