http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Schalke-04-c39204 new head coach Jens Keller is eager to help the Bundesliga outfit get better results in the domestic league. He formerly trained Stuttgart side in the 2010/11 campaign only for a brief spell of two months and
failed to live up to the expectations of his previous club.
The former defender was promoted from assistant coach to full-time boss, and was drafted straight into a tight fixture schedule. He claimed that things will be different this time around, as he will have time to adjust to
the new position because of the winter break.
The 42-year-old would have settled at the role by the time the league resumes. He insisted that his Stuttgart time was difficult as he the team had to play eight matches in less than a month. He admitted that due to the hectic
run of fixtures, he could not boost the morale of his former players.
"Back then I was promoted from assistant coach to head coach and had eight games in the first four weeks," he was quoted as saying in an interview.
However, the team trainer has plenty of time with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues’ star following their DFB-Pokal clash. Moreover, he is starting fresh and was not part of the coaching pupil under former trainer Huub Stevens.
"Because of the busy fixture list it was virtually impossible to give the team new impetus. It's different this time because I'll have more time with the players after the cup game and I wasn't part of the senior coaching
staff like I was in Stuttgart," the former FC Koln player added.
"Our objective for the season remains automatic qualification for the group stage of next year's Champions League," he finally concluded.
Keller further added that the Miners’ top priority for the remainder of the season is to secure direct qualification for the UEFA Champions League by finishing in the top three positions of the Bundesliga.
