  1. whatever you do, DON'T get to your audition early. it'll just give you more time to panic and be nervous. do something if you MUST wait; something not related to the audition at ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know you love me. xoxo, gossip girl ;)

  2. Breathing is important, but you need to work on your mind first!

You MUST starting thinking in a positive way.

If they called you in for an audition, they saw something in you they like. Ride that wave!

Your language and your punctuation tell me that it is imperative that you calm down, close your eyes and concentrate on giving a great presentation. Really imagine what it will be like to give the presentation of your life, how you will be  talking, standing, looking at your audience and just as importantly, what you will be saying to them. You will be prepared and supremely confident. Your presence in front of the group is that of a true authority. NO ONE knows the subject matter better than you. You are prepared. You have practices many, many times and you know it inside out, backwards and forewords and upside down. You are a really good speaker. Wow!!!

That's the way you need to think!!

Turn all those explanation points into excitement instead of stress and nerves!!!

Have a look at this page on my site for new and aspiring actors. You will find 23 links to pages that have to do with various aspects of starting an acting career INCLUDING how to get over stage fright, how to set up and deliver a speech effectively. I think they might help you.

    Remember. Think positively...and breathe!

    You will be fantastic!

    Good luck!

  3. Make sure you memorize ur stuff. Walk into the performance/audition/presentation like you own the place. not cocky, but confiedent. For the audition, dont look at the judges or directors, look slightly above them. focus on one spot, and pretend like ur singing or acting towards that thing.

Everyone has butterflies, but dont let the negative thoughts overwhelm you. Think positive!

  4. Meditate.....allow all unnecessary stress to leave your body ...mind....and your spirit...closing your eyes actually visualize it slipping away and feel yourself becoming calmer and more grounded and focused with every breath....you are at the right place at the exact moment for your creativeness to unfold....nervousness is for those who aren't ready and that is not you ...You have been preparing for this your whole life...now is your time to claim your prize....with confidence you will be relaxed and ready......

  5. Know your stuff cold.  I am sure you will do just fine.  Everyone else has butterflies, too, so you're not the only one.  Knock 'em dead, kid :)

  6. What a coincidence! Tomorrow in school im presenting a monologue- phebe from shakespeare's As You Like It- and im really nervous too all i can say is just practice, practice practice, so you dont risk forgettting what you are gonna say and my teache said when you are doing a monologue, plan out your blocking, where you will walk around so during you performance, you will be concentrating more on which move you have to make next rather than loooking at all your classmates. i hope that helps and good luck tomorrow! you can do it ! encouraging youself is key!
