Buuut. I don't like to eat a lot I just ate 5 goldfish crackers, and already regret it. Anyways, the only time I eat is when I am around my mom so that she doesn't think I have a problem. Buuut, I am going out to dinner tomorrow with my whole family and a few other people, I am known for eating a lot, but the thought of that much food jsut grosses me out now. I know if I eat like everyone else tomorrow I will put on a ton of weight because my body isn't used to it, but if I don't eat a lot, then everyone will draw attention to it...What should I do?!

Do you think it would work if I just ate reallyyy slow?

  1. Order something small

say you have lost your appetite but your sure to get it back

they will believe you if your convincing

    xx

  2. buuuuuut why dont u just order an appetizer as a meal n then tell them ur just not hungry at the moment?

  3. You will not put on a ton of weight. Yes, starving yourself slows your metabolism, but you will be fine as long as you order something reasonable. Also, eating slowly not only helps but is good for you. It takes your stomach about 20 minutes to tel your brain that it's full. Eating fast usually results in not realizing how full you are until it's too late. So, if you eat slowly you will realize you are full a lot sooner and not eat as much as a result.  Order healthy (make sure you get protien and veggies, like a chicken salad, etc.), eat slowly, and try drinking a glass of water before you leave (sounds weird but this helps you feel fuller, as well as aids in digestion, and helps hydrate you).

I'm not saying this to help promote image problems, but these options are much better than starvation. It is best to do this 4-6 times a day. Eating small meals and "grazing" (like on veggies, etc.) is much better than one big meal.  Also, if you're worried about goldfish crackers then don't eat them. It's best to snack on veggies, fruit, or something else healthful rather than snack food.

That being said, your tone sounds like you are developing a problem with food, which can lead to eating disorders, which lead to all kinds of health problems, including death. I would talk to someone (a counselor at school, etc.) immediately before your dislike for food gets out of control.

    Good luck!

  4. well for one thing you DO have a problem. you wont put on a lot of weight if you eat;you will if you barely eat b/c right now your body is going into starvation mode and saving fat. EAT NORMAL-4-6 small meals a day, not junk food! and excercise. You have a image problem the way you are talking.

p.s the girl above me probaly throws up her food and has image issues also, she is giving horrible advice id warn you it is best to ignore.

  5. This doesn't sound stupid at all. I am VERY concerned however that you have an eating disorder and are trying to hide it from people you love.

Why do I think you have an eating disorder, you just expressed regret for eating something that has like 3 calories. You can eat up to 55 of those crackers for 150 calories. You further says you want to eat around your mom so that she doesn't think you have a problem. That sounds like you think you have a problem and don't want anyone to know. And you are overly worried about one meal putting on a ton a weight. One meal doesn't do that, people who are truly fat have been overeating for years.

I am afraid that you are eating so little right now that if you eat a lot you will make yourself sick.  I would order a salad but, please go and see a doctor to make sure you don't have some eating disorder like Anorexia or something like that. Really I am not doing this to be a Drama Queen but, PLEASE GET HELP.

  6. just say you aren't feeling well

  7. Try eating really slow.

Maybe even drop a few pieces of food on the floor or hide them in your napkin when no one is looking.

  8. So eat reasonably, and eat healthy.

  9. 5 goldfish crackers for the day?  Or as a snack?  If for the day, you are in the anorexia arena and need to get some help before it consumes or kills you.  Regardless of how you try to appear to others, they will begin to notice that something is seriously wrong.  Eating slowly isn't going to change that.  But eating and throwing up isn't the answer either.  I can't solve your issue for your dinner.  You need to tackle your problem head on and get some help.  I hope you do so.  Let your family help.
