  1. I am english but I was living in a place called Gort in between Ennis and Galway and that was absolutely fantastic...I went to Limerick shops a few times but I didn't like it there I was always glad to get back home..it was busy, too much traffic, and there is a lot of crime there..however,I was stuck in traffic for a long time and my car over heated, and a couple of shop owners there and a guy off the street lifted my bonnet on the car, took off the radiator cap and kept going into the shop for water, brought me and my husband out a cool drink as it was in the summer so YES the people of Limeick are pure gems and I thank all of them for their kindness and their generosity..they are a lovely race as are ALL the southern Irish people

  2. i love Ireland and Irish people  . I'm from Sahara

  3. do u want a lodger i agree

  4. That's nice. I haven't been to Limerick yet, but I will someday!

  5. good for you Ange, im from Dublin, loving it too :-), Happy Christmas!!

  6. I met a Group of Young Iraqi Students some years ago in Bruxelles when I came out of an Irish Pub Conways and they asked me was I Irish, and one Fella said  he stayed in Limerick. Then with a Flash of Mischief in his Eyes he said what is it they Say about Limerick, and I replied They Call it Stab City, much Laughter Followed. But I said to them it was a Small Minority that was causing the trouble, a few Gangster Families that was mixed up in the Drug Scene, and there have been a few Turf Wars with People  getting  Killed. I said Limerick was a Great City ,it is a lovely place. He agreed and said he Enjoyed Himself there. These were around 18 Year olds and very nice unlike what you hear about Iraq. There was a thing about Limerick in the News about a Group of  American Franciscan Monks who moved into Moyross Housing Estate. The locals did not know what to make of them  at first but gradually accepted them. They do a kind of Rap Song while Praying to the Locals ,and they like it .The locals have Christened them the Monkees.

Edit I passed through Limerick a couple of times and it has some very nice Georgian Buildings .I delivered Goods to a place in Gort and passed Rahoon it is a Group of Flat Complexes like Ballymun or Keogh Square and just up a Hilly Lane you would  think you were in Connemara with the Dry Stone Walls very Picturesque.

  7. Good for you!! My sister-in-law comes from ( hope I spelt this right) Ballybunyan! They often go over to visit her family, and my brother is always full of praise for the Irish people.....and especially their Guinness.....he says its the best!! We would love to visit Ireland sometime....maybe next year!! We live in Xylofagou, Cyprus......

  8. The media seem to make it out as the worst place to live in Ireland . There are nearly daily reports of shootings, stabbings, robberies, drug busts and gangland feuds. Is that not the case there then?
