I am german and want to become a chilean citizen- I don't want to give up my german citizenship.can it happen?

  2. Yes. Germany does allow for dual citizenship but you need to register that you want to keep your German citizenship before you get your Chilean by getting a Beibehaltungsgenehmigung (BBG). You need to prove that you have enough ties to Germany for it to be unreasonable for you to give up your German citizenship (speak the language, do business there, family etc).
