  1. at david's bridal they have wedding gowns that are all white with red trim... supper gorgeous dresses.  a completely red gown might shock a few of the (older) more conservative wedding guests... it's just a thought

the whole candlelight wedding / reception hall is incredibly romantic but you may want to be very careful.  My sister's friend had candles all over the stairs of the altar during the wedding and one of her bridesmaids was a little bit clumsy and fell off the side and set her whole dress on fire and part of the altar cloth stuff (lace from the groom's great grandmother).  it kinda killed the mood when firetrucks showed up.

you can always get the "glowing" candles. they look just like candles but the inside has a little light instead of a flame!!!!

good luck with your valentine's day wedding. love the colors. sounds like it is going to be gorgeous!

  2. I have a beautiful RED gown that I never got to wear to my wedding. My mother in law was too worried what people would think, but I love it. Its gorgeous. I still have it and am looking to sell it. It is a size 14 iridescent taffeta sweetheart strapless gown with full skirt and long train. I can send pictures if you like.

I too liked the idea of my girls in either pink or white. Its harder to find white bridesmaids dresses, but I think the contrast would look awesome in the pictures.

  3. I'm not as adventurous as you and normally would be skeptic about wearing a red gown. But then again red dresses are hot! Since it will be Valentines Day as well it's a lovely choice to go with the theme.

Go with the candlelight theme. It's beautiful and romantic.

Everything sounds awesome. The pink would definitely not be as  bold as your dress I assume.

If you care for suggestions my best friend's wedding consisted of pink and whites. She loved the idea of rose petals, but that was too costly. Instead she found rose petals at dollar stores and Wal Mart and scattered them about the aisle and over the tables at the reception. I think as well to go along with the day the little candy hearts w/the "I love you" and various messages written on them would look cute scattered about the table tops or just in dishes.

Red and white candles would be pretty.

I don't know if you have thought of favors for the wedding guests but a really great idea would be burning love songs onto a cd and giving them to guests.

Have fun and don't get too stressed out...I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

  4. your them is so cute and romantic i love it if you don't like the reception halls walls you can get fabric and cover them up. A read wedding dress is creative but you only get married once so if you want find a white wedding dress with red embroidery it will pop on the dress but still have a classic look.

  5. I think a red gown is great! I Love the colors you have picked. You could cover the walls with tulle (white) and then drape red, pink and white flowers on it. You could also have the girls carry candles instead of flowers. Good Luck adn congrats!

  6. um, not sure about a red dress...

the candlelight part...will probably look pretty but will not be good for pictures.  good luck and i hope it is beautiful!

  7. just make sure it isnt neon pink. use baby pink silk.

  8. A candlelight wedding would be so beautiful!!!

For favors, I think sweetheart candies and little valentines day cards like the old school days would be fun.

There are many bridal gowns with red accents that could be nice, but a full red dress would be cool and different too!

I wouldn't "cover" the walls all the way, but focus more on the table details and other decorations...

    :)

  9. There are beautiful wedding gowns that are white with red accents, worth checking out, unless you really want a red gown.  If you want a lot of candles you usually need to get a permit from the fire dept from the city.  I wanted candle centerpeices at my wedding but had to get permission.  What did you want to cover the walls with? If you do too much red, it may look a little devilish.  I'd go with more silver with pink and red accents.

  10. it sounds really nice, but i would think twice about a candle-lit ceremony and reception.

using only candlelight will make the ceremony too dim and your pictures will not turn out. (think about taking pictures at night, also, the flash is distracting) it will be especially dark if you are in a red dress.

using candles would still be very romantic and beautiful, but use them in addition to full lighting.
