  1. You want to do a LOT of research before you just go and buy some goats.  You can't feed them just anything.  One of our pet goats died because she started eating a rhododendron bush before we could catch her.  My sister tried to get all the leaves out of her mouth, but by then, it was too late.  You also cannot feed them bread because it will cause bloat (their intestinal tract fills with air and twists on itself... causing them horrible pain and eventually death).

You need to research for the proper shelter, the proper fencing or proper leash (you need a long leash and a tough stake for that leash, or your goat WILL get loose... same goes for fencing), the proper food (you can't let it eat grass... sometimes there is a drought or they eat all the grass in the area), and the proper medication.  You also have to be prepared to muck out their shelter every day because they p**p EVERYWHERE.  They will knock over water buckets.  You need to give them fresh water every day and keep the buckets clean.  You will need to trim the hooves.  Goats head-butt.  Get a male, and you'll have to watch your back.  Our male has slammed family members down multiple times.

As for breeding, I suggest you don't until you have had the goats for at least a year.  No, I'm not saying "Oh, when they are a year old, I can breed them."  I'm saying you make sure you know how to take care of those goats before you even think about breeding.  If you get a breeched kid, you are in trouble.  In fact, just get neutered males for the time being if you get males.  That head butting thing I mentioned above was caused by a NEUTERED male.  I'd hate to see how bad intact males are.

Again, do a lot of research before you buy the goats.

  2. Goats eat grain, from the feedmill, and good hay.  They like to nibble on stuff but are actually very picky about what they eat.   They need a really good fence.  They are little escape artists.

You need to do a lot of research before getting goats.  There's lots of good info in books and online, you just have to look.
