  1. Bringing home a dog is a big commitment so you should consider things..

Try the guidelines on this site...

    welcome to pet lovers club..

  2. Research the breed, then memorize it!

  3. play with it.. dogs love to play especially puppies. make sure it has a spot of its own [ a bed, crate, or pillow ] my past dogs have always loved having something of their own it makes them feel safe. puppies feel safe in enclosed spaces like a crate; leave the door open when your home and they go inside when they want. make sure your house is dog proof; ele. wires glass objects low to floor, stair cases if its a puppy. if you are getting a dog that will need training.. treats, treats, & more treats. i have found that they are key for training puppies, use them as a reward for good behavior. try to be as positive as possible when training him/her. & if they go to the bathroom in the house bring them outside right away or if you are potty pad training  [ which i do with my yorkie ] bring the pup to the pad and tell them that they are supposed to go there. hope this helps you :D

  4. What kind of dog are you getting? How old?

Feed it an all natural food and it will say on the bag how much to feed it.  Play with it as much as it wants to.

  5. You need to research about the breed of dog BEFORE you buy it. We can't help you if we don't know the breed.

A responsible dog owner or any animal owner researches first! Don't get the dog until you're prepared!

  6. get:

    food

    treats

    toys

    water bowl

    food bowl

    leash

    collar

    lots-o-love

    many,MANY bags (for the p**p)

    dog shampoo

    dog Manual

    dog bed

play with it everyday, feed it everyday, walk it everyday, make sure his condition is good.

  7. Make sure it has food and water, obviously. I have a small pure bred jack Russell terrier so i usually give it like 3/4 cup of food in the morning and the same at night. sometimes, i get the canned food for it too. for my dog, it's extremely active, so i have to play with it for at least 1-2 hours. so if your the type of person that goes out on vacation, your either going to have to have accommodations for your dog or not even get a dog in the first place. but in the end, it all depends on what type of dog you get. :)

  8. I suggest you learn as much as you can BEFORE the dog is at your home. Get a crate, food and water bowls, collar, leash, toys, the same food the dog is eating now(so no tummy upset) and get yourself a copy of Dogs For Dummies. It explains all the basics of dog ownership. Read this book, or any good dog book before you bring the dog home. If you have never owned a dog before,it is a very good idea to research the breed or mix of breed that you are getting. Some breeds are easier to handle than others and it is not always about size. Some of the most difficult dogs can be the very small ones!

  9. get a book about your dog, or maybe go to a trainer, ask your vet.

Be very patience, remember you are getting a puppy or are you getting a dog, puppies are getting a baby , sort-of, alot of time, training, make sure you take it out alot to do its business, patience, good luck

  10. Cage training works great. Buy puppy food and give the amount that is on the bag. make sure the puppy has a lot of toys to play with and teeth on.

  11. What breed? Ask anouther question with the breed of your new dog included!
