I am getting a laptop soon...broadband/internet question! Help!!?

Question

I was curious how the broadband with AT&T works. Would I still need a wireless router if I decide to do broadband? I have NO CLUE how any of this works. Please help.

AT&T provides good enough internet service, I can't say so much about their customer service though... However, AT&T is also contracted with a wireless modem/router company called 2wire.  So if you go with AT&T, they should offer you a 2wire modem, which is also a wireless router, that way you don't need to worry about getting another piece of hardware.
