I am getting a new dirt bike and I don't know what size I should get because I want to race. I am 13 years old 5 foot 4 and 130 pounds.

  1. if you want two stroke, a 125 (kx 125, cr 125, yz 125, etc)

    for four stroke makes sure it's 200 or above (i'm 5'4'' and ride flat footed ona  200cc four stroke... the minimum i could see me actually racing with would be a crf230r.)

  3. 5'4" is a little short for a 125. Your only real options are a CRF150R or some brand of 85. 85 2 stroke race bikes aren't great for a beginner, but you will adjust. The best option would be the CRF150R, but it is a little more expensive than the 85's.

  4. There are no stops signs in the dirt and traffic tends to be going the same direction. Be sure you can get one foot on the ground with other foot on the peg.  It is ok if the one foot on ground is tip toe. Remember, there isn't much stopping out there except at the end of the day. The suspension is much of a dirt bikes agility and these bikes are much taller. It will take some getting used to, so get out there and do it!
