The pond I am looking at is 160 gallons. I want to be able to put fish in this pond. Can you please tell me which filter and pump is good and also where to get one (store or website).

The fish are gold fish, then when they get bigger I will be installing a bigger pond in a diffrent location.

Thank you

  1. You want to check out Drs. Foster and Smith -- they have great prices for pond supplies, filters etc. unless you have a good store in your area.  (I have no commercial interest in this company -- I'm a customer)

I had a 120 gallon pond and used a 250 gallon per hour (gph) pump with a Pondmaster (12 x 12) filter.  This is an in-pond system and the outlet of my pump was above the water and that helped to aerate the pond.

Goldfish are easy to grow and will grow in size.  If they are the common goldfish, they can live in the pond all year round, providing it does not freeze solid.  Do not over feed.

Get yourself one or two books on the subject.

    Enjoy.
