  1. There is something about softshells that makes other turtles want to take a bite out of them. I would keep it isolated. My preference is for a relatively bare tank -- just a ramp for basking. No plants. Live fishes (not goldfish), earthworms, and soft-bodied insects are good food. Strips of liver dusted with bonemeal are good too.

  2. Softshells are more delicate than your average pond turtle.  I have mixed them and had no troubles.  For all my turtles, I use strictly water and Rock, or those plastic islands you can purchase.   I never use sand, dirt or anything similar to this.  I use regular turtle food, and feeder fish.  Plus it is important to keep waste and unused food out of the tank.  These are heavy bacteria breeders.  Softshells are not considered a beginner turtle.   Good Luck though.

  3. rocks and sand yes ya can keep um together my friend at the nature center keeps them together and no plants or if ya want plants contact a turtle breeder for the right plants
