Okay I am getting a tattoo when I go away to Florida the day before I leave I want to get one. Can you tell me why some people go back to have color put on the tattoo?? Is there a reason? This will be my first tattoo and I want to get it on my back. It would be of a flower, and I do want color in it. How much will it cost? And will they do color the same day? I don't want it too big just maybe like the inner palm side ofyour hand (the circle part)

  1. I hope you mean before you leave Florida to come back.  If you get it before you go say goodbye to beaches and pools.

You would only have to go back for major work.  My last tat was 4 hours, but that was done in one sitting.  A simple rose tat wouldn't take very long.

  2. The reason people go back to put color on the tattoo is because they are just retouching it up.  You can get the color put on the same day you get the outline of the flower.  The size the of the tattoo you want isn't really big, so it really just depends how well you can tolerate pain, which will determine how long it will take you to get your tattoo.  The reason people do touch ups on the coloring because they tend to fade over the years with light exposure and the tattoo ink slightly spreading.  Be sure to ask the tattoo artist if the base coloring of the black ink used in the outlining of the flower is blue or green based.  Over time the lines will actually look like the color of the based ink.  I cannot tell you how much it will cost because it depends on the tattoo artist.  I got a tattoo with seven colors, probably about the size of the one you are wanting, and it cost me $115.  Try to haggle a little bit, it might drop down the price a little.  The more color you get in your tattoo the higher the price tends to be.  Also, a little FYI, be sure there isn't too much detail in your tattoo.  I say this because over time the black outlining of the tattoo will slightly spread, so if there is a lot of detail to the flower, then it might be hard to make out 10 or 15 years down the road, which is also the amount of time people usually go back to retouch their tattoo, if they decide to.  Hope you have fun doing it, and remember it will stay on your body for the rest of your life!  :)

  3. a reason some people might go back to add color...i would think only if the piece was large and they just did the outline in one setting then follow up with the color in a second setting but if your piece is only the size of your palm, that wont be necessary. with a smaller piece like that it can be all done in one day. it will probably cost between $80-$120 but it really depends on where you go, what the average hourly price is.

  4. They go back for oen of two reasons. Either it is tooe xpensive to pay for all at once. Or the tattoo is too large to complete in one session. I have a rose on my back that was done in one sitting. It cost me $50(3 years ago).

  5. OBVIOUSLY, nobody can tell you how much it will cost

price OBVIOUSLY varies from artist to artist/shop to shop

generally, only large/intricate tattoos require multiple sessions

a simple flower should be done in 1 session no problem
