I am getting my lower molar pulled tomorrow. I want to know how bad will it hurt. I have an abscess and the molar is a little loose(not to loose though). I am getting laughing gas. I was just wondering if anyone had the same experience.

I hate having to keep my mouth open for a long time at the dentist.

So, I just want to know what am I in for. Will the laughing gas make me not know what is going on.

I'm not worried about after I leave the dentist, I am just nervous about while I am at the dentist.

Any info will help a lot.

  1. Hello...Hey, not to worry you will do just fine....The extraction will be practically totally painless...you may feel some pressure during the extraction and a slight pinch when you get the anesthetic. The DDS will give you instructions as to what to do and not do after the extraction. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine....Good luck and I wish you well.

  2. its mainly discomfort feeling not so much painful. They will numb you up too and give you pain med. its not as bad as ppl. think

  3. Everyone reacts a bit different to the gas. It sounds like a relatively easy tooth pull though.

It will be over so quick you'll wonder if the dentist did anything at all. You will be sore for awhile. Don't remove the packing the dentist puts in your mouth until he/she says so. Also, try not to get the area too dry later as it can get infected really easy. Good luck!

    (It won't be that bad!!)

  4. The nitrous will just make you not care. oooohhhh look at the pretty colors. haha. But seriously no you should be fine. And ask the dentist (or oral surgeon whichever you are seeing) about a bite block. This will help you keep your mouth open without making your jaw sore. And will make his/her job faster and easier

  5. the only advice i have for you is to calm down. i know it is nerve recking when you have to go to the dentist. yes, the laughing gas will help you a whole lot. it helps relax you and not feel a thing because they will also get you numb.

if you relax a little bit then the laughing gas will work faster then you wont have to be at the dentist for very long and you wont have to keep your mouth open for very long. it will be fairly fast
