My wedding colors are ivory, peridot which is like a sage green, and chocolate brown so it is not the typical fall wedding theme. Any ideas???

  1. Get tall glass containers (they don't have to match), line them with moss, and place tall branches in them. You can use regular tree branches or get those cute twisty ones from the craft store. Then tie a very thick luxurious chocolate brown satin bow around the vase. Set the vases on trays or platters (get cheap ones from the dollar store and spray paint them green, or use silver ones). You could also use big baskets of green fruit (limes, pears, apples, grapes). That would look very "autumn" without being all cornstalks and jack-o'lanterns. Get a whole bunch of baskets from Goodwill and spray paint them all chocolate brown. Then line them with moss and fill them with fruit. You can use crumpled newspaper to fill up most of the space so you need less fruit. just cover it with moss.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Potted plants...i mean, green right there. Either just plain foilage plants or loot for a blooming one thats in season. But ivy in the middle in a chocolate colored pot or dark basket would look cute. space out the vines and put some candles of different sizes on clear glass plates (dollar store!). Maybe set the ivy up a little. (like put something under the table cloth, then set the plant on that) and place some peridot tulle or nice cloth under it to provide some contrast and texture.

Unless you have a lot of use for the plants (and love of ivy) you could give your bridesmaids (and groomsmen) bonus gifts of a plant or to any family or friends who helped a great deal.

You could do this for half the tables with the ivy and then do something else with the others. Flowers just don't quite sound fitting for your colors. Sunflowers would look pretty. And just alternate your tables from flowers to ivy.

You could also sprinkle silver confetti around the centerpieces to add some sparkle.

And also consider if you are give favors to your guest, depending on what they might be if they could work into the centerpiece or not, or if the just add to the table where the centerpiece wouldnt need to be so dominating.

Keep in mind, people want to see who's sitting across from them, keep the centerpieces low and it will help keep your budget low too.

  3. Something with tea lights.  I say this because tealights are extraordinarily cheap, and they look great.

  4. I have perfect centerpieces for you that I will sell.  E-mail me at janicemattila@aol.com and I will send you a picture tomorrow.  I just got married last August and used large glass bowls.  I decorated them with sage ribbon and adhired calla lilly to them (fake ones of course).  Then I put water into them, which I used food coloring and then floated candles.  They were perfect!!

  5. Square vases with ivory sand stones and Lucky Babboo plants.

  6. Our was pretty simple-

we used glass jars, tied a ribbon around the top, squished in some saran wrap and filled with water (it looks like a cool gel or something) and then put floating candles on top of that. Then we set them on little round mirrors and sprinkled fake rose petals in our wedding colors on the table.

you could add some food coloring to the water, too.

I hope this site may help you :0

  7. I would go with simple, small cylinder vases, an ivory candle burning inside it, and a simple wreath of peridot & chocolate brown leaves & flowers around the vase.

    Simple, cheap, elegant :)

  8. A single cymbidium orchid in a tall cylinder vase is so elegant and they are not that expensive. (You could also get latex orchids) You can submerge the entire stem and have a floating candle at the top. One other idea, you can fill large martini glasses with white carnations and use a green pom mum to look like the olive.

  9. Go to Michaels or JoAnns. They always have cute ideas there.

  10. Do you only want to use flowers or are you open to other ideas?
