  1. late dec is a great time it gives everyone a heads up. but the marriage cert you should get at least a week before.

  2. your wedding invites should arrive 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding. be considerate of your guests and their schedules.

as for your marriage certificate, every state is different regarding what they require (blood tests, etc.) so call your city and find out their requirements and time frame.

  3. Yea mid or late december is a good time..

oh and get the marriage certificate before! its alot more better, because you dont wanna deal with all that after!

  4. Depending on the state you live in, a marriage license might be good for either 30 or 60 days (not sure).  You usually get that right before the wedding.  Sending out the invitations is about 6 weeks before your actual wedding.  This gives the guests times to respond, and usually about 2 weeks before the big day, you have to give reception hall a count of how many people will be attending.  Don't get aggrevated if some people don't respond right away, it happens all of the time that there seems to be a few that you kind of have to call or assume they are coming!  Right now, you should be looking for a church/minister, reception hall, etc.  I bought a wedding planner book at a book store when I was getting married, it was helpful because it had a checklist of things I had to do.  Or, maybe you could find something on the internet with a checklist and little tid bits of advice.  Just relax, and take one thing at a time, and by March it should be mostly done.  At the end, it will be all worth it!  Good Luck and Congratulations!

You get a marriage license before you actually get married.  After your wedding and the officiant sends in the paperwork, then you will get the Official Marriage Certificate in the mail.

  5. in cali you have to get the certificate a month in advance and we sent the invites six weeks before the wedding date. You dont want to send them to early.

  6. I would wait until after the Hoilday to send out my invitation! So After the New year should be fine! Marriage Certificate it depends on where u live. Call down to the court house and ask someone their !

  7. January would be a good time to send out your invitations, that should give you plenty of time for RSVP tracking.

As far a the marriage license, it needs to be filed with the clerk of courts after you are married.

    Best wishes to you.

  8. Invitations should be sent about 3-4 months before the wedding.

I think the marriage liscence is about a month before, but check with your local courthouse.

Find a good book on planning a wedding. I found an inexpensive but good one at Borders.

  9. Send the invites around 6 weeks out.  Otherwise they will get lost and people will forget about it.  And that also gives you time to call all the people who will not rsvp because they couldn't be bothered...ugh!

You will need to check with your state when you can get your marriage certificate.  If you get it within 2 weeks of getting married you should be safe.  Some states require blood work and other things so check this all out now!

  10. If you have out of town wedding guests, you should send them a save the date card as soon as possible.  Send the invitations late December.  I'm not sure where you live but I know some states require you to obtain the marriage license at least 72 hours before the wedding so you might want to contact your local courthouse to find out what is required in your state.

  11. six months is plenty of time.  You don't get a certificate until the preacher sends in the license.  Check with the county clerks office on when you need to file an application for the license.

  12. Invitations: 8 weeks prior to the wedding. License: depends on your state, some states you can get it 60 days before the wedding, others it's 30. You have to find that info. out on your own. Call your County Clerk of Courts to find out.

  13. Don't send the invites that early.  They will end up just sitting on the guests' counters and be forgotten about (especially in the holiday rush).  If you send them a little later, they will be more proactive in RSVPing.  I would say around 6-8 weeks beforehand.

As far as the marriage license, it depends on what state your in.  Most allow you to get one that is good for 60 days (meaning it must be signed within 60 days by your officiant), so you can get it prior to the actual ceremony.

  14. Send out invitations 6 weeks before the big day.

Then, since you're out doing that errand at the post office...

Head on over to the marriage certificate place and get ir done.

  15. Invitation should be sent out 6-8 weeks before the wedding...

Most states have a time period attached to Marriage License..  I.E. It is only valid to be used for 30 days after issue..  Check the laws in your area (call the court house) and see what time limit applies to your area...  Plan your trip to get the Marriage License with the valid period in mind... Most people wait until a few days before the planned wedding to get the license...

Your Marriage Certificate should arrive 4-6 weeks after you file your completed Marriage license after the wedding....

  16. I would do all I could in advance cause you can save time and allow for mishaps

  17. I would do save-the-date cards in about December with the wedding date so people can mark it on their calendars. You can do these many different ways including magnets and postcards. About 2 months before hand send out the invites. You don't want to send them out too early, that is where the save-the-dates come in. (You can even say in the save-the-dates that there will be more information to come such as address and time and that is where the invites come in). Definately make sure you have the marriage license before the actual ceremony. You could probably do that mid-Feb. Good luck!

  18. In my family we always get marriage invitation no later than one month and no less than two weeks. I would forget if you gave me the invitation in december
