and we are having an outside reception. I have alot of musicians in my family so I will probably end up having music equipment set up (amps, mixer, etc.) I thought while no one is playing I could use an ipod to play our playlist. But I am not very technically savvy so I have no idea what I would need to hook up an ipod to that sort of equipment. Do they make something specially for that? Also I don't own an ipod so I would have to buy one, preferably nothing expansive and if one of the models is better equipped for this sort of thing it would be nice to know about. Can anyone help me??? I'm so lost! Thanks!!!

  1. Firstly, to play an external device through the mixer all you need is a cord with a 3.5mm jack on one end (headphone jack) and a pair of rca jacks on the other (the red and white ones that go into a tv). I've provided a link for visual reference.

In regards to the iPod, if you are interested in only an iPod, an iPod nano would be more than enough to handle this sort of event. Although the down side to iPods are that they are quite expensive compared to other music players that can often do more. A knowledgeable salesperson (such as myself) can also help make your decision much more understandable.  Just keep in mind, an iPod is not the only music player on the market.

There are many different types of music players available. Also there are many different factors that can effect your decision, such as, the number of songs needed, the possiblity of future use, the options available at your chosen store (dependent on your location). Try to look at the store's website to see what interests you and suits your needs. I'm always glad to help.
