I am getting married on november 15 this year.. and some of my friends say its not a good date...?

i am from philippines and my fiance is from switzerland we have to get married on novemeber cause he has to go back work in december.. according to some of my friends and relatives that this date is not a good date... they are supersticious believers.. but i have no choice because we already think we could organize things well after our marriage... they said i have to choose a date with a number 8 in it... please any advice... do i have to change the date...?

No. That's just silly. In most cultures the number 8 is UNlucky. Most ancient cultures consider un even numbers to be lucky because of planetary reasons (9 planets, 7 days in a week, 3 moon cycles).

you do not have to change anything, superstition is in the eyes of the believers, tell them that if they are your real friends they will support you no matter what day it is.

You are choosing a date with 8 in it. 2008! This whole year is lucky for them.

Besides, its your day and your choice as to when you get married. Not theirs. Don't let it stress you out. You will have "way" more things to stress over as planning and time go on. Its just a date.

Superstitions are silly. If the date works out for you guys, keep it!  Whatever makes your lives easier to bring together as one, has my vote.

Your mistake was telling everyone about your wedding. Just proceed and make your plans with only your fiance. You know how superstitious your people are so try to not discuss any more plans. Then they will receive an invitation and thats all they need to know. The more people you discuss any part of your wedding with the more confusing it will be for you. As you said, you dont have another choice so it will be fine. Just keep your mouth shut. Best wishes to you both
