Do I need to call the airline ahead of time and ask them about it? Where will they put it?

  1. Even after the new security checks, I've seen brides carry on their gowns. It couldn't hurt to double-check with your airline, but you are allowed one piece of carry-on and your purse. You should be good to go.

  2. As said above they used to let you hang it in the first class closet. I was watching a wedding planning show once and they said they now suggest buying a plane ticket for your dress...how terrible. Call the airline ahead of time and hopefully they will be able to accommodate you since you planned ahead and did not just assume they would.

  3. Well....

Buy a first class ticket for yourself, you deserve it you're a bride to be, plus theyre now very uptight about the first class closet (only for first class)... you dont need to get an extra ticket for the dress..

With the new baggage rules, the only thing left to do is bring the dress as a carry-on... the stewardess will put it on the closet... they're usually very understanding about these situations....

but call the airline first handed...

As long as is enclosed in a protective sleeve or how you call those things everything should be allright

Just remember to only put the dress there and double check that it doesnt have any pins or other metal that could set off the alarm...

But dont worry everything would be all right ...

    And congratulations...

  4. With airport security being the way it is I would definitely call the airline and check with them. They used to let you bring it on board with you and store it in the 1st class closet or overhead bin - but now a days they might ask you to check it; which I wouldn't want to do.

So definitely call and see what they have to say.
