I am getting my hair cut tomorrow; but i dont know how i want it done!?

i want the "sceneish" look.

i have black shoulder length hair right now; this is my hair (but i dont have the green in it anymore, its all black.) --> http://i33.tinypic.com/5cd1mq.jpg

i wanna go alittle shorter; but i dont know how to get it done.

and if i put it up, i want some of the shorter layers to fall down, and the ponytail to look thin, so anyone have a picture like this?

or a picture of a style that would do this?

PLEASE HELP!

i dont want to go to the stylist and be clueless.

get like a cute bob just above ur shoulders. it doesnt look stupid and when u put it up  the shorter layers fall down
