  1. If it's a jet boat, it's probably the stator, and they're ridiculously expensive. I've dealt with a few of these things at the marina I work at, and that's what the problem has been for every one of them. Basically what happens is because the engines are in those compartments and the fact that you're doing "donuts" and fooling around on the water, the water in the bilge is flying around the engine compartment and getting everything wet, on top of the fact that with cold water running through the motor and warm, humid air is around the motor, condensation forms and kills your electrical system. Either way, it's more than likely your stator and like the other answer you received, it's a ton of money to pay.

The only other thing it could be is if you have bad plugs, it's flooding, the choke isn't working, or your carbs are dirty. Obviously, you'll want to keep it as cheap as you can. Take the plugs out and turn it over to blow out all of the junk in the cylinders, put some new plugs in it and try it. If that doesn't work, if it were my boat I'd probably just get rid of it, mainly because it'd cost more to fix it than it is worth. Either way, Good Luck w/ your boat.

  2. Sound like the stator is shot. Very expensive to fix.

  3. Have the coil pack checked out andthe swich board
