I am getting to much noise in my modem, how do I fix that?

  1. What do you mean "noise"?

    If you mean the signal-noise ratio is low (not enough signal or too much noise) it's probably a problem with the line between your modem and the ISP.  There could be a bad cable underground, or a bad filter on the line.  I had one time that my modem quit working because one of Cox's filters got wet.


  2. do u leave it on a long time? if it gets overheated its fan will kick in just turn it off

  3. Have you fed the mouse inside recently?

  4. ask line provider to do a line and woosh test. this often removes some of the noise on the line.
