Question:

I am getting two QP104D - 10" Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coil subs 800 watt max and 400 rmswhat Amp should i get?

2 Channel amp? and bridge it? and if i bridge it do i need to buy a 800watt amp 2 channel or a 1600watt amp 2 channel also every amp i have looked at doesn't come close to the 400rms my subs can handle please help?????

  1. Get a mono amp that's 800 watts RMS @ 4 ohm and wire the subs series-parallel as shown on my site http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com

Well the 4ohm voice coil subs would be a 2 ohm sub to an amp because of it being dual voice coil.  yes a two channel amp and bridge it and hook the subs in series will get you to 2 ohm most amps rate the rms at 4ohm but will say 2 or 1 ohm stable.  Generaly a 4 ohm amp with an rms rating of 175 wats per channel bridged would be about 350. But if you drop the ohm which in this case you would you could produce around 525 rms out of the amp   hope this helps
