  1. They're not that hard.  There will probably be one math and English class.

  2. Nursing is a great job,but you must think about how long it;s been befor you think about going back. It takes a lot of time, age plays a big part

you will have to put many hours with books

  3. my GF is almost done, she is taking her classes from a community college, she already has a 4 year degree in Communication.  She tells me the nursing classes are much easier than those at the university.

  4. It all depends on your present level of eduation, general intelligence, and level of experience.

When I was in nursing school I had experience working in a hospital setting, I'm not squeamish at all, had a good background in science, and was a pretty much an A-B+ student. So, I found the classes challenging but not hard. I had a much easier time in clinical than other people who had no experience in health care.

Some of my fellow students really struggled because every little thing was new to them - no science or health care background. Some just seemed to have no common sense when it came to dealing with people.

Later on, as a nursing teacher, I found the students that did best were the ones who came prepared, did their reading, and were ready to get in and do the dirty work. The ones who acted like prima donnas or were scared of their own shadows had a rough time.

It depends, too, on the school you go to. I went to a very intensive two year (Associates degree) program and our school consistently turned out more experienced nurses who got much higher grades on the nursing boards than the local four year program. When I went back to get my Bachelor's degree I had to keep my mouth shut alot - because some of the things the professors were teaching were just not practical in the real world setting of the hospital. But the classes, at that point, were pretty easy and I just breezed through them.

    Good luck!
