I am going bananas!!!!!?

okay, most of you will laugh at this BUT this is something that is just bothering me! Lately (for the past few months) when I have bought green bananas from the grocery (because it seems like you can only buy really green or really ripe bananas these days) they will NOT turn yellow. I have ones I bought TWO weeks ago and they are still as green as the day I bought them. This never happened to me in the past? Are they doing something weird to bananas nowdays? I feel like I am wasting money on them weekly......

Don't buy them too green. They should have some yellow in them when you buy them.

Put them in a brown paper bag.

I don't know about the bananas you bought but in Malaysia, there are bananas that remain green when ripe.

Their local names Pisang Embun/ Pisang Montel/ Pisang Hijau

If I literally translate them They are Dew banana, Plump/Chubby banana and Green banana

Put them in a sealed bag for a day and they should ripen up.
