  1. Don't bring any food or items that we don't have in Australia, our quarantine is very strict.

Do socalise and spend some time at the Unibar mingling and meeting new people.

Don't talk about how your home country is so much better or how you do things differently. Respect the Australian way.

Do try Vegemite and Tim Tams.

Do try and dress casual, thongs and boardies in summer are a must.

Don't take offense to Aussie jokes, you will soon learn our sense of humour.

  2. if you ever get invited to a barbeque do bring food. eg your own meat, snacks, drinks. trust me its like tradition

  3. Go to the Gold Coast (Queensland) go to the beaches, Dreamworld and whatever other attractions you hear about. Go to Sydney and see everything there, its an awesome city. There too much to see, so stay as long as you can and see as much as you can.

PS: If your from India theres bigger a chance your Muslim? Nothing wrong with that but if you are you might be offended at the beach cause bikini's are the only thing chicks were at the beach. But the beaches are awesome so go anyway.

  4. lol, be sure to have a sense of humour, You can defiantly expect to have jokes made about you, but this isn't against you- it's just the aussie sense of humour :P

Make sure you know how to laugh at yourself *nod* :)

  5. When you get here buy some flip flops

  6. Buy clothes for every season...and realise we dont have store winter stuff away in the middle of summer and the other way around..cause you never know, you will probably need it!

Soak in as much of the experience as possible, go everywhere, visit everything.

    so worth it!

    have fun.

  7. Have a great time, Take in as much as possible

One word of advice. If and when you go to the beaches only swim where it is patrolled (red and yellow flags). We seem to have a lot of people  who are not used to the sea that get into trouble with rips and hidden currents. some people have been swept out when only up to their knees in water. I don't want to scare you as we have some incredible coastal areas.
