BERKLEY GULP CATFISH BAIT IS REALLY GOOD BUT, WATER DOGS  ITS LIVE BAIT THEY LOOK LIKE LIZARDS BUT THEIR NOT, ALSO LG SHRIMP AS BIG AS POSSIBLE AND BIG #2 WEIGHTS , WITH  SIZE 4 TREBLE HOOKS  36LB LINE IN VERY DEEP WATER, YOU'LL CATCH THE BIG ONES

There's tons of great baits but chicken livers reign supreme in all parts of the U.S.A

You can also use Shad, perch, carp chunks or just make your own stink baits.~good luck catchin'.

or i do pretty good on something called PREMO.

you can make you own bait. they'll eat pretty much anything. make something stinky that is also oily. usually you'll catch larger fish on cut baits, larger minnows, night crawlers, or crawdads.

Note: Lotta' ppl use treble hooks ta' keep in on thje hook better or ya' can wrap it in a small piece of woman's pantyhose with a single hook and use half hitch knots w/ thread ta' cinch up ends of pantyhose...
