  1. Hi, the only strict rules (and they are strict) are no jeans or trainers and men must wear a jacket and tie.

    Have a good time!

  2. I believe it is dressy/casual. So maybe a dress, and a necklace, high heel shoes for sure. You should wear some lipstick with the outfit, too.

  3. i would suggest you dress up, its ok to go informal but i say if youre having tea at the ritz go all out! dress up in will add to the experience!

  4. I don't know about London but here maybe a pant suit or a nice dress would be appropriate. A pretty blouse with a skirt is good too. NO jeans or shorts. Hats are good too.

  5. Make the occasion even more special and dress up. If the lady has a hat on, her party will always have a better table. Enjoy!

  6. sounds like you need to act like a different person there, i dont think its me cup of tea to go there, doing the whole dress up thing and just havin a cup of tea. But, if you think its worth doing, go ahead and enjoy. But, it looks very nice tho, different! compared to the aussie ways

  7. If you are going to meet a man then YES you should dress up to impress him.  I take it you are going alone, right?

  8. hello yes u do need to be a bit formal but that dosn't need to be too formal as long as you look nice and not wearing work out close or jeans shoud be fine, just look smart.

  9. Not really. I took my mum there for tea for her birthday, and while it's quite decadent and posh, it's not too formal. There were women there in all kinds of clothes.

If I were you I'd go for smart casual. Nothing too dressy as you'll feel out of place.

Men should wear a jacket and tie though.

  10. For tea at the Ritz there is no dress code as such but smart/casual is recommended.

  11. are you going for the cream tea?

i did in december with a friend and we dresses as though we were worth a million lol

in other words yes but make sure you feel good in what you are going to wear

    the cream tea's are wonderful

the best way to dress is as though your going to the proms and you will fit in with no problems

    have a wonderful time

    i did

  12. As you wish in a decent way.

  13. i dont know

  14. It's quite smart - the surroundings are lovely (take a look at their website) - you certainly don't want to be in jeans (I don't think they'd let you in anyway in them).  Men need to wear a tie and I think a jacket.  Wear something smart - smart casual is OK.

  15. no

  16. yes, need to look neat and presentable.  Nothing formal..

  17. There was a fire at the Ritz in London a few days ago.

Hopefully you won't experience any such panics when you go there.

    Have fun !

  18. smart causal will be fine. but you'll feel great if you do dress up. I love wearing a gorgeous floaty dress when i go. as its winter you'll prob have to think practically, so a nice skirt and fitted top/sweater combo will be fine.

  19. I'm not sure about tea at The Ritz, but I have had cocktails there while wearing jeans and a blouse and had no problem.  My husband was asked to keep his jacket on, even though it was a casual jacket as that's their policy for men.  I don't think they are too restrictive regarding women, although it would probably be appropriate to dress reasonable smartly, perhaps a skirt and heels.  Don't worry though, go and enjoy yourself - it's basically just a hotel!

  20. When I went for tea there, I went smart casual. I wore a nice pair of trousers and a smart jacket. The guy that took me there had a shirt and tie on but he didn't have a jacket and the hotel did actually lend him one for the occasional.  The Ritz website does say that Gentlemen are requested to wear a jacket, so that was his fault for not looking.  But its very nice there and you will have a lovely time, I know that I certainly did enjoy myself

  21. A smile

  22. you don't need to get all dressed up,just wear something smart for example dark jeans with some nice bright blouse and heels don't forget to accessorise.

  23. I went 4 years ago and it was superb.  I wore a nice skirt/sweater set- nothing flashy, although i did see several ladies in hats.  The men all had on jackets/ties.  I did not see a pair of jeans or trainers (sneakers) in the pack.

The primary fun here is that you're participating in a time-honored tradition.  High Tea is extraordinarily important to them.  If you wear something a little nicer that you're comfortable in, you'll feel great about yourself while you experience this event.  Be yourself, just be a sharp-dressed yourself.

  24. It is fairly dressy and to be honest isn't that half of the fun for going for afternoon tea? The opportunity to dress up a little and sit somewhere glamourous? When you go do feel free to ask for extra sandwiches and cakes if you can manage it- they are very generous and obliging! More than can be said of Claridges who wanted to charge us extra for a few more sandwiches even though we were already paying £30.00 a head!! You will have a glorious time! Enjoy!

  25. Tea at the Ritz is these days mainly very touristy, so it's not like everyone will be dressed up to the nines in full evening dress! However, if you're going to go, i would do it in style. Glamour all the way!

  26. i woulds see what everyone else is wearing. or wear something stylish but that can look sophisticated as well. i would wear natural make u and your hair nice as well as they are all the enhancing you need.

  27. As long as you don't look like a hooker, and dress smartly, you should have no problem.

  28. A nice trouser or skirt suit would be perfect.  Make sure a skirt or dress is not too short and a top is not too low cut.  Nice clean polished shoes and tidy hair and make up and make sure any men in your party are wearing ties and jackets and proper trousers and shoes (ie not jeans or trainers).  Sophisticated elegance is the look you are after!

  29. Tea at the Ritz is an institution in itself and is served in the spectacular Palm Court.A choice of several varieties of tea, finely cut sandwiches, freshly baked scones, jam and clotted cream, and a range of delicate pastries.

The Ritz has a formal dress code in it's public areas.Gentlemen are requested to wear a jacket and tie.Jeans and training shoes are not permitted.

Enjoy the experience and dress sensibly.

  30. u gta dress smart 2 go 2 da ritz the ritz is lyk wowww

  31. Yes, be formal.

Ladies wear trousers too.............not just skirts and dresses.
