Take ETN, but make sure it is a direct trip, because if not you are looking at an annoying trip as the other answerer.....

oh lord, i did this and let me tell you it was one terrible trip.  i always take ETN, but they don't go to zihuat from puerto vallarta, or guadalajara.  the best bus to take if ETN is not available is Primera Plus.  also...they don't give the best snacks, so make sure and take food!!!  the trip is long and there are many stops...it's annoying!!
