I am going into high school as a freshman on monday, any tips? I wanna be popular?

I am already going to

-talk to 3 new people and get them to know my name

-sit and stand up straight

-have a pleasant expression on my face

-don't look at the ground when I am walking

But whenever someone talks to me, its almost like i am so amazed that someone is talking to me I have a hard time answering or my voice is weird. I was really insecure last year and I was always walking around feel self-concious of myself, thinking that people were talking about me or making fun of me in their heads.

But last year at the high school I am going to, there was a girl who won homecoming queen, prom queen, class favorite, and miss (my high school's name). She is really awesome and nice cause I knew her last year and once she came to my school and we were walking in the hallways together and whenever somebody passed, she always was like "hey!" and smiled and waved at them! idk just thought that i would share that. I wanna be like her, kinda.

So what are some tips on things to do on the first day to make me seem approachable, friendly, and popular?

Ok the first thing I'm going to tell you is that being popular is:

(A) Overrated

(B) Dangerous - popular girls are expected to put out (have s*x, give head etc.), party, get wasted for fun

(C) Unnecessary

I am going to be a Senor in high school in a couple weeks. I have never in my life been popular, but I'm happy. In grade school I was the quiet, shy pushover who people would cheat off of. Now I'm loud(to an extent not overly so), outspoken, and I stick up for myself, plus I have three great friends as well as many other friends.

As for your worries about being boring, everyone is boring so don't worry! You will find something to talk about. For example I was once in a heated discussion about toilet paper! (When you can see through it it's not a good sign).

See the link for some ice breakers. If your worried about what to say just think about anything you like and comment on it (I like music thus I would ask a persons' fav band). Ask what they did over summer break.

Someone said to be yourself. That's key.

Try having a smile on your face when you're talking to new people, It makes them feel welcomed and comfortable talking to you.

Do you have any hobbies? Do you play sports?

Try joining clubs and sports. You meet new people and you confidence boosts after a while.

And you have to stop thinking that everyone is talking about you. Its hard, i know, But try. And even if people do talk about you, you cant control it.

Um sometimes if people give themselves make overs, it makes them feel better about themselves.

Listen to me u must be very different from the other popular kids but dont be like (eell look at her shes just tryin to be cool) Set urself a name not for bein a **** or anything but make a postive name and talk to everybody make urself known. Dont talk s*** if ur not gonna do it just be loyal all types of things believe me Im a tenth grader this year and i was kinda popualr just somethings i just didnt follow which lead me to kinda popularity! going to high school is a big change, so at first you should focus on just getting through the first couple of weeks, maybe meet a new person each day. you really shouldnt try to change just to be in the "popular group," but if you muuuust........the people in that group work their way up there throughout the years. during your first year you should join a few new clubs, or maybe a sport, because you will meet all different types of people. you could also try to be elected for student council. that way lots of people will know you by name too!

Just be yourself.

Thats the best advice that I can ever give to anyone.

Dont be fake,and act like a copy either,just find people with your same intrests.
