  1. just put it in your suit case. The securty people do not work for the cruise line, and for 7 bucks an hour they don't care

anyway. I carry a bottle on all the time.

  2. I figure they sell it on board, if you are so inclined to buy it.  I don't know if customs searches you as you leave the country, but they may when you come back.  Watch out what you buy on the cruise from where you go ashore, though.

  3. its cheaper on ship than anywhere you could buy it. Duty free. In fact, most folks take extra money and buy bottels to take home with them!

  4. It may depend on where you leave from... I cruised Carnival 02/07 and had no problem we bought 2 bottles right at the port and put them on to our carry on bag just as the man at the port said to do.... at the end of the cruise we gave all of our leftover booze to our room steward...

  5. Don't listen to the guy who said if you take several they will take it from you. I used to run singles cruises and some of our passengers brought up to 12 bottles (yes some were lushes) with them and never got taken. There is NO way they can screen 4000 passengers and allll of their luggage before you get on. Take a bottle of vodka, gin, and a couple bottles of wine. You should be set. Juice is included, and buy a soda card for mixers. Def. Drink responsibly!!!!

  6. I am about ready to take my fifth cruise, and I always take a bottle or two with me. They have never taken them so I don't think that they really care. I do keep it out of sight in my room. The liquor on board is cheap, but you can't take it to your room. If you buy any on board, or in port, you have to check it in and then they deliver it to you the night before docking.

  7. I have taken several cruises and on my last I took on 6 bottles of wine in my luggage.  My cruisemate also took on at least that many.  They charge you a corkage fee but my dinner waiters loved my group so much they only charged us on the first night.  We also took on vodka and gin in our luggage.  We just put them in water bottles and we had no issues.

  8. I have personal experience doing this and I plan to do it again in Jan on a cruise.  Fill empty water bottles with clear alcohol.  (I prefer vodka, my husband tequila.)  Put these bottles in  a large Ziploc bag and pack in your luggage.  we also brought cranberry juice.  we got some limes by tipping a bartender. We  made our own drinks and saved a bundle.

  9. I have brought it on board packed with my shampoo. I buy the plastic containers and have never had it confiscated but there's a first time for everything.

  10. We have been on 4 cruises and will be cruising again in February with Carnival. My husband takes his own liquor every time to save.  He usually takes a bottle of tequila, salt and a bottle of tequila mix in one of our suitcases.  We wrap the bottles in those tall kitchen garbage bags and put them in our suitcase in the middle of the clothes.  One thing that does cause a problem in the weight of your bag when you check in.  We were frantically trying to move things around in our bags so they would be 50 lbs. or less.  Of course that tequila was a bit heavy but worth it.  My husband buys a fancy drink when he gets on the ship and uses the glass when mixing his drinks in the room.  It is pretty simple and saves a bunch.  The drinks on the ship really add up while you are having fun!!  Happy cruising!

  11. Your carry-on luggage is screened as well as your checked luggage.  They will not stop you from carrying on a bottle or two of wine.  However, if you try carrying on several bottles of liquor, you will have them taken away from you.  You will also be in violation of your ticket agreement and it is the right of the ship to deny you passage - and to give no refund of your fare.

My advice - buy your drinks on board.  They are not too expensive and you are ot going on a cruise to stay drunk the whole time (I hope).

Drink in moderation and it will not be outrageoulsy expensive.
