The cruise is a week long and my family is going on it in 2 weeks. It is on NCL's Norwegian Spirit, and visits Roatan, Santo Tomas De Castilla, Cozumel, and Belize City. If you are an experienced traveler, or know of any great places to visit at or around these ports, please suggest some! All suggestions welcome and appreciated

  1. I recommend Xel Ha water park outside of Cozumel.  It is beauitful, huge, and so much fun.  The ship might offer a shore excursion to this park.  There is swimming, beaches, dolphin enclosures, cliff jumping, ect.  So much fun!!

I would definitly recommend a shore excursion in Belize.  There is nothing to do in the port, and unadvisable to leave the port on your own.  Take a tour organized by the ship. There is some of the best snorkling in the world by Belize.  There will be people all over the port offering to take you snorkling, hiking, on tours, ect.  These are NOT affiliated with the ship, and though they may be cheaper, the ship will have no record of where you have gone, or who you have gone with.  Use your best judgement, and have fun!

  2. This really depends on what you're interested in.  I've been to Coz and Belize, of those you mentioned, and was mainly interested in snorkeling.

Chankanaab Park in Coz is wonderful, whether or not you want to snorkel.  They have a website - check it out.  It's very easy to get to on your own.  Just grab a cab outside the port and go.  Many cabs available for return.

In Belize, we took a ship's tour [because they actually pick you up at the ship rather than having to tender in to shore] that went Goff's Caye for snorkeling.  We loved this trip.

For many, many ideas and lots of advice on your ports of call, go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" at the top of the page, then go to "Ports of Call" and click on your ports.  If you don't see what you want, just ask - everyone there is very friendly and helpful, and the advice is very reliable.

    Have fun!
