  1. yes, i went on a same trip last year. you are going to a different country. it is a big duhhhhh that you have to take your PASSPORT

  2. You must have a passport for any cruise because upon return to port, you have been outside the United States.

Cruise lines have an alcohol policy telling you not to bring any on board with you, but most people do it anyway. I always tote a pint or 2 in my checked baggage. I know the cabin steward saw my bottle and they didn't worry about it. I think they want to be as nice to you as possible, hoping to have you back on a future cruise. If in doubt, do like I used to do on the airplane prior to 9-11. I would put vodka in a contact lens juice bottle. Then it doesn't matter if the fluid is the right color!!!

Oh, apply for the passport immediately. They take time.

    Bon Voyage.

  3. yes you need a passport.  or you wond be allowed on the ship.

as far a bring booze onthe ship.  they frown upon it bt you could smuggle it on there are ways,  i never did.  ; )

  4. No passport yet since you are traveling by sea.  They tried to implement that but the government got backed up and postponed it.  You need either your passport OR government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.

The new date you will need your passport will be June 1, 2009.

Now that is only as a US citizen leaving from Florida.  If you were traveling by AIR to Bahamas, they would be right.  You would need your passport.

Now for alcohol.  Yes you can bring your own.  I always have.  But frankly it's so cheap.  On Carnival I get a hurricane glass the first day which is less than $7, and the refills all week long are about $5.  You can also get discounts on a bucket of beer if that is what you prefer.  What you cannot do is by it at port and bring it back on the ship.  They confiscate it and give it back to you the last night on ship.
