  1. Yes you will need one. I would start now to ensure that you have it in time.  Have fun!

  2. yes you will :) as of december 31, 2006

  3. Consular sheet from the US State Department website:

    http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw...

  4. Here it is, right from the US Department of State web site

    --------------------------------------...

    Timeline

In the proposed implementation plan, the requirements outlined above will be rolled out in the following phases:

On January 8, 2007, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document.

As early as January 1, 2008, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), may be required to present a valid passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security. While recent legislative changes permit a later deadline, the Departments of State and Homeland Security are working to meet all requirements as soon as possible. Ample advance notice will be provided to enable the public to obtain passports or passport cards for land/sea entries.

  5. Startin Jan 7, 2007 you will need a passport to get back into US at your first port of entry

  6. After Dec. 31 you will have to have a passport.

  7. yes, all cruise lines are making you have passports starting january 1, 2007.

  8. Lost Tourist is correct.  If you are traveling to Belize, Caribbean and Mexico next year, but you are starting your cruise from a US port (San Diego, Tampa etc.) then you do NOT need a passport, but only a birthcertificate and Government ID.

If you are cruising and your cruise starts in another country (Canada, Puerto Rico) then you need a passport.

This was updated by the US government about 2 weeks ago.

All air travel to Mexcio, Caribbean, and Canada require passports starting in Jan 07.

border crossing and sea travel from the US to another country do not require the passport until the beginning of 08.  I hope this helps.

  9. I think you will, but ask your cruise line.  They will know for sure.

  10. Starting in Jan yes you will need one.
