  2. The train is convenient unless you have a ton of luggage. There are two to three trains an hour leaving Civitavecchia for Roma Termini station. The trip takes 50 to 90 minutes and costs 4.50 to 10 euro depending on the specific train. You can check specific schedules and prices at: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html. If you're at the Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna, you can either take the metro (A line) to the Cornelia stop (direction Battistini) or get a cab when you get to Rome.

    If you've got a lot of luggage, you might find it more convenient just to get one of the taxis/shuttle services into Rome - it will cost a lot more, but you won't have to deal with handling the luggage.
