I am going on a cruise with my inlaws?

And my mother in law has booked my husband, me and my sister-in-law and my brother-in-laws girlfriend (a total of 4 people) to be in the same room. I know it is an inside cabin, she mentioned something about bunks coming down from the ceiling. Do you know anything about this?

We went on a cruise once before and had our baby with us. He had a pack-n-play on the floor next to our bed- we could hardly walk through the room it was so crowded (we are light packers too, we each brought a small suitcase!)

I am nervous what it would be like with a teenager and a college student (lots of luggage) and whether there will be room to breathe.

I suppose this will be the least romantic cruise in history.....

  1. Well, the good news is that you'll be on a cruise. The bad news is there are 4 of you in a room. Our first cruise I booked my husband and 2 kids in an inside cabin with bunks. Its small but doable. You definitely need to get ready is shifts, put your suitcases under the beds and try to keep up on the clutter. I'm slightly claustrophobic but was actually surprised it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Go and have fun, hopefully you'll have so much fun you wont be in your room much

  2. The Pullman beds are not comfortable at all.  Even my kids hate them.

If anyone has back problems or is a big/tall, they won't be able to use the pullman beds.

Also, 4 teen/adult guests will be almost impossible to manage.

Make sure you take a power strip because there is usually only one in the room.

The pricing on the 3rd and 4th guest in a room gives a price break.  If possible, you may want to investigate what the cost delta is between the 3rd and 4th guest and another cabin and offer to pay the delta so you and your hubby can have your own room.

  3. bad news     four in an inside cabin?   never heard of it--but

its possible--4 adults  that could be considered

                         torture

good news   you wont spend any time in your room except

to sleep and shower  (make a shower scdeduele)

  4. Wow, yeah you definitely won't have any romance. Try to see if you can upgrade or purchase a separate room.

  5. Ouch!  Well, it saves money, but it will be a bit crowded.  You will have the two beds on the floor that you already know about and two bed that come down from the ceiling.

This photo shows the two upper beds folded away (you can see the bed along the wall above the two beds on the floor) ...

Here is a link to three photos showing the drop down beds open.  One of the photos shows all four beds open ...

The luggage will fit under the beds on the floor.

  6. No - it will be horrible.  Get your own inside cabin.  I can't image the 4 of you having to share a bathroom too.  You won't be able to move in that room.
