  1. I just spent a semester in France and it cost me around $7000, mainly because the exchange rate kept getting worse. I would say an average lunch will cost from 7-10 euros, souvenirs can be cheap, like postcards from 30 euro cents each, to jewelry, clothes, little statues and such that can get really pricey. I don't know what sort of supplies you may need, but I'm sure you can find what you need without spending too much. If housing and transportation is covered, and you have a good idea of what you want to buy, I wouldn't think you'd need much more than $1200 US, which would be about 700 euros. But remember, the rate that you see online isn't what you'll get when you exchange your money. So shop around for exchange places. Or better yet, if your bank doesn't charge too much to withdraw overseas, put the money in your bank account here and withdraw money when you get there. Anyway, as long as you keep track of what you're spending, you should be fine.

  2. Check the current exchange rate  at  http://ww.xe.com

Since your lodging and transportation  is paid for,,, that is a plus.

Meals can cost you about 20+ a day for 2weeks=25 euro a day =350  for meals  ( Will you be paying for all your meals; dinner too, or just lunches?) With dinner, I would bring another 100 euros= 450 euros.... This also could be less depending on the places you eat at.

Using Atm cards  can be helpful too. Just withdraw so much a day  only that which you need. Find out from your bank what they charge for overseas withdrawls.

The exchange  rate that you see online isn't what you'll get when you exchange your money; you will have to pay a commission fee , so shop around for exchange places.  Keep track of what you're spending, you should be fine.

Souvenirs  can be expensive in some areas  so shop around, but they are reasonably cheap in most areas  depending on what you want to buy. The amount for these is totally up to you.

Your supplies: it depends on what type of supplies you have to buy.

Personally, I would bring for a two week period  at least  equivalent to 1000 -1500 euros== currently is between $1,600-$2,400 ... However, the rates change daily  so just be careful with your money..   Bring a money belt to carry all important documents in there  store the belt inside your pants .. Only keep a small amount  of cash in your pocket, the rest in the money belt.

Go into bathrooms  to get what you need  -go into the stall and act as if you are going to the bathroom.

    Have a great trip

  3. I would suggest you look into the current exchange rate to see how much money you can get for the dollar or which ever nomination you will be exchanging.

Food in Europe is not cheap especially if you enjoy your McDonalds and such. Eating fish and chips in a pub is fairly cheap, fast food though, I would recommend staying away from.

  4. I have friends who have gone to paris or germany and things like that for only a few days and they blew threw 2000-4000 euros easy. Thats just 4 or 5 days. Take as much as you possibly can because trust me you will be spending ALOT.
