And I was wondering if there will be girls in bikinis even though it is a cruise to Alaska? If it helps the cruise I am going is the Norweigen Star.

  1. On the cruises to Alaska, the pools are not used too much, but the hot tubs are. It usually is in the 70's this time of the year, but it can get warmer. The coldest part I found was going in the inside passage. Everyone had on coats, hats and gloves during that part of the cruise. After all, you will be surrounded by ice. The rest of the time may be t shirt weather, but I suggest throwing in a pair of gloves and a knit hat into your luggage just in case.

  2. two major ports are Seward, and Juneau, depending on what trip you take.  Either trip you should dress like it's a rainy day in Seattle.  We do have nice weather, but this summer so far has been a wet one.  Pack some sort of windbreaker/rain coat.  but dont dress like it's the middle of winter.  People do get heat stroke here from over dressing.  A few hoody's would be smart.

  3. I would check out the ship at the lines website.  I went on royal Carribean and they had an indoor and outdoor pool.  The outdoor pool and waterslide were open for short periods, the indoor pool full time.  Not too many people using it though the times I was there although there were a lot of people relaxing around it.

It can be cold, bring light clothes that you can layer as the weather can warm up quickly, especially on shore, and you do not want to be heading back to the ship frequently to change.  A sweater and a windproof jacket can be combined to make a warm but light alternative to a heavier jacket.  A warm hat or toque can always be tossed into your luggage just in case although on my trip I did not need them.  The only cold spot was when we were cruising by the glacier.

  4. You can and should expect it to be chilly. I would guess that the temperature would get to the 40's at night, and probably be in the low 70's during the day. Since you're going to be on a large body of water it change quickly, and I would imagine it might even feel up to 10 degrees cooler than the two listed above.
