  1. hey, i can't really tell you much about the Pride lol. But I think that we are going on it at the same time! I'm going on the one february 17th that leaves out of Long Beach and we have a huge group of like family and some of my friends and stuff.

so if you're going on that one too you can IM me if you wanna,

  2. We went on the Pride in 2004, and it was great! The ship was still fairly new then, so everything was sparkling clean. We had a great time... everyone onbaord was very friendly and nice. Our trip was the Mexican Riviera itinerary. I don;t think they are doing that one anymore. There lots of things to do. Trivia games, swimming, shore excursions, dancing, singing, and you can pretty much eat 24/7 if you felt like it.

We're thinking we want to do another cruise, we had so much fun on The Pride. There are lots of photo opps. The Black and Whites were by far, our favorites. You're not obligated to purchase every photo that they take of you. You can go to these big boards and see all the photos and chose which ones you like. I recommend that every time you see a photographer, get your pic taken. It's well worth it. We got the nicest pictures we've ever taken together onboard. Oh, and beware of the "art auction" SOme fairly nice things, but in my opinion, all are overpriced, especially if you opt to have them matted and framed as well. We did come away with 3 paintings, framed and matted, but I think that's the last time we do the auction. Enojoy!

  3. You can see some great pictures from Carnival Pride here:

Overall, it's a great ship.  Nice size, easy to get around, two good pools.  The cabins are a good size (the pictures in that link show a regular balcony).

The food is good in the dining room and amazing in the Supper Club (the extra-charge restaurant at the top of the ship).  The entertainment is great, as is the night life.

You'll have a day at sea on the first and last days.  Those are great days to spend in the spa.  If you want to do that, make reservations as soon as you get on the ship, otherwise they may be full.

Oh, and there's a lot of, um, "art" on the ship.  Renaissance paintings of naked people.  Not a big deal for some, a bit jarring for others.

Also, some general "know before you go" stuff about cruises:

    Have a great trip!

  4. I was on the Pride two years ago. I have been on 5 cruises and the Pride is right up there as one of my favorites. Most of my cruising has been in the Caribbean and I enjoyed being on the Pacific side. The crew was friendly and the food was good. We saw whales from the ship and from a boat we were riding to a beach excursion. Our friends had a suite at the rear of the ship and reported seeing dolphins playing in the wake of the ship. The cruise was a nice mix of fun in the sun and sightseeing. There was an excursion in Mazatlaan that was highly recommended as it showed a side of Mexico other than what you see in the tourist areas. I would jump at the chance to go again.

  5. I went on the Carnival Pride a year ago.  I wonder if your cruise director will be Jeff Bronson.  He was ours.  Well... the housekeeping staff was AMAZING.  The stewardess we had was so nice.  Our dining staff definitely had room for improvement... they weren't mean they just weren't super fun and didn't do anything out of the ordinary like some of the other waiters on the ship did.  If I were you, I would adjust the tips accordingly.  Don't just do the suggested defaults that they give you, unless you think it fits the service you got.  In Puerto Vallarta, take the white taxis.  (Don't know why... that's just what the ship told us to do.)  If you want to do just one excursion on the whole trip, do it here.  Do the Canopy Tour/Adventure.  It's the zip line.  I didn't do it, but have a friend who did, and she LOVED it!  Mazatlan... take an open air taxi over to the beach.  Or just stay on the ship.  The town is honestly a bit scary.  A dead blow fish had washed up onto the beach we were at.  Cabo... Ew... the tenders.  Best beach but had the coldest water.  It was beautiful though... crystal clear.  You could see the bottom of the ocean.  Absolutely breath taking.  If only their weren't so many tourists... but it won't be as bad, because you aren't going spring break.  Don't worry too much about being back to the tender dock on time.  That sounds bad, but you will have to wait so long unless you go back super early.  The ship left about 1 1/2 maybe 2 hours late on the Cabo day because of tendering.  When the ship is departing Cabo, go up on to the lido deck.  You can get GREAT pictures of the famous arch.  You don't need to do a tour unless you really want to.  I did one a different time in Cabo and it wasn't all that exciting.  Just get pictures from the ship.  If you tend to get even the slightest bit sea sick, bring Dramamine.  The last day at sea from Cabo to Long Beach can be kind of rough.  Try to eat breakfast & lunch in the dining room at least once during the week.  Also, check out the Asian food line.  So good!  The Taj Mahal is very beautiful.  Go in there as soon as you embark on the ship... it seems to be more interesting when there is no one in there.  Oh yeah, and when you embark in Long Beach, expect the longest line you've ever seen.  Either get there super early or super late, not sometime in between.  God... longest line EVER.  Bad memories.  If you want to take bottled water on the ship, put it in your checked luggage.  They took my brand new unopened bottle of Dasani :(  The ship's year is actually 2001.  Have a great time!

  6. Pride looks like a nice ship. It was built in 2002. Carnival is a fun cruise to be on. May have lots of party people on board. Looks like your leaving from Miami, Fla or Long Beach, CA. Kind of a good time to go. I doubt it will be loaded with kids. A cruise is what you make. Theres so much to do on there, you will never be bored. good luck

  7. I have been on its sister ship, Legend, last May and had an awsome time. I leave on the Pride Febuary 24th so have an awsome time and I'll pass you on the gangway
