I am going on vacation for 30 days what precautions should I take with leaving my house?

If your water heater is gas I would think you would have to have a professional shut it off. I don't think you need to turn it off but call a plumber and ask them about the pros and cons of having it shut off. If you live in a cold climate in the winter months, you have to leave the heat on so the pipes don't freeze. I don't think you would need air con on unless there are pets that your neighbors are tending to. Those light control systems are nice to make the place look lived in. Set it on random timing rather than a set time. Either have neighbors take in your mail or have the post office hold it.
