Sponge Bob ain't bad, but I can't stand Diego or Dora. Backyardigans are passable, & the Barnyard guys, they are OK too, but most of this stuff is just mind numbing. Anything that is remotely interesting is deemed "Not Appropriate" by mom. I have to respect her wishes, it's the right thing to do, it is not my child, although I wish she was. I would just twist her though. Best that we listen to mommy. She has done a pretty good job for the first 5 1/2 years, so, I won't quibble about the details. I teach her how to swim, mom tells her what she can watch on TV, but I am getting "Cartoon Brain Drain" man! A man can only take so much. Help me, please.

  1. Do you have a second T.V in the house so you can watch what you want?  Or you can not spend so much time watching T.V and play games or go out and have fun.  Just some thoughts.  Good Luck!

  2. I use to get that way. Now that summer is here and both my kids are at home, they have one hour each in the morning to watch what they want. That way I can get things done. Then after those 2 hours, the tv goes off and I sit down and play games with them, then usually it's lunch time. After lunch they have to find something to do for a while by themselves. It's okay for them to play by themselves and not have mom and dad always entertain them.

In the late afternoon when I'm getting dinner ready they can pick out one movie.

    It's all about balance.

  3. Find something to do besides watching TV?

  4. Pick out movies and watch them after she goes to bed, or watch anime like Naruto or pokemon it might be a little more tollerable lol.

  5. Perhaps you could suggest, or get dvd's from the video store of some, older cartoons i.e., Warner Bros, Disney or even some Dr. Seuss.  Even some Family style movies,  Homeward Bound, Mary Poppins, Benji.
