  1. Bring good gloves and a helmet (you'll be falling a lot if you're a beginner). Also essential are waterproof/breathable snow pants, since you'll spend a lot of time on your knees and butt.

Up top, layer up with a base wicking shirt, turtleneck or thin fleece and cover it all up with a waterproof/breathable shell jacket.

Size of the board depends on weight & height, but something like a 135-145 cm board should do the trick. Burton makes LTR boards that are really easy to learn on.

  2. Wear very waterproof clothes!!! You will fall. The board size will all depend on how tall you are, you can go to a store near you and they can help you.  Snowboarding is so fun but just stick with it, many people I know thought it was too hard their first time and quit. I recommend you first rent the equipment so you can find out if you even like it! Good luck and have fun out there!

  3. E-diddys right. Waterproof close and such. A store or shop or such should be able to give you pointers and sometimes you can go to their sites and they'll have the whole Q&A stuff, heh..
