I am going through heathrow airport and...?

considering their reputation with baggage would it be worth me takin some spares in my hand luggage and if so what??

I always have the next days undies/socks and those things I cannot afford to lose with me.  Just in case.  Hasn't happened yet!

Although luggage loss is well published its actually not all too common. If you are going through terminal 5 its now unlikely you will loose your luggage - the teathing problems have been ironed out.

So if you want take some essentials aswell but really I wouldn't worry its very unlikely you'l be seperated from your luggage.

I've been through heathrow loads of time and never had a problem. I suppose you could take a change of clothes in your hand luggage just in case. If you are going with someone else or taking two checked bags then share out your clothing between the two. Also leave a piece of paper in your checked bag with your contact details both here and abroad.

wherever you fly from a few basic essentials are good in case your baggage is lost. this can happen on any airport or terminal.

i normally have a change of clothes and a small wash kit.
